The first time my eyes fell on YOUTUBE SCREENING ROOM, i thought it was just another compilations of uselles youtube videos thrown in by amateurs, playing with their cams, or hamming up their heads, but fortunately it turned out to be the updated collection of the best videos i have ever seen on youtube or anywhere else,

the best short movies in high quality.

I havent seen so many movies from YTScreening room, but the ones i saw i loved al,ost all of them.

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE / SLUMDOG CROREPATI: REVIEW

With the news of Slumdog Millionaire's constant winning streak . I got curious to know what the heck's in the movie. And since its releasing on 23^rd Jan and so are my annual papers, I thought when will piracy play its vital role. So I searched it over the net and finally found the English version of it on orkut.

Plotty Potty:

Based on Vikas Swarup's novel "Questions and Answers", Slumdog Millionaire is a not-so-ordinary rags to riches story of a boy named Jamal Malik told in a not-so-ordinary way.

Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) participates in Kaun Banega Crorepati ( Indian version of Who Wants to Be A Millionare) to find his childhood love Latika (Freida Pinto) where he is accused of cheating.

The movie starts with Jamal being interrogated by the police about how he knew the answers to all the questions. The movie unfolds as Jamal narrates his sour n' sweet experiences behind every answer.

So is the movie really so good?

1. Ya b) No c) Not really d) Damn' You

and the answer is… 'c' … Slightly overrated and over-awarded.

And about the acting ?

1. Fine b) Yuck c) Good d) Brillaint

   
   

And the answer is… 'c'

It could have been brilliant.

Though the acting is well ( neither good nor bad) but the movie in English is a little bit undigestible. Plus that Mr. Salim, as he grows not only his English improves but he starts speaking with a lil' bit of brit accent (not even gujarati Patel). Anil Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla were good. Irrfan Khan looked boozed. Latika (Freida Pinto) looked beautiful and acted beautifully.

Kudos to the child artists in the movie, especially the youngest Jamal and his brother Salim.

The movie has got its own flaws (KBC was never telecasted live) but the director Danny Boyle knew how to hide the flaws with his intelligent story-telling.

Soundtrack:

The background score by AR Rahman goes along the mood of the movie (the O Saiyya,Ringa Ringa,Sitar music)

Craziest Scene:

When youngest Jamal jumps in shit to get the autograph of Amitabh Bachchan (the fake one)

Coolest Scene:

Old bollywood style of increasing the age, but I really liked the scene when youngest Jamal tries to steal the food from the train.

Sucking Scene:

The AR Rahman's 'Jai Ho' comes before/along the credits with a damn' dance number (which looked similar to ek challis ki last local's kya hua jo lari chuti… but this one was more weird looking)

When expectations exceed, celestial bodies decrease.

Sarkar Raj: Review
After spending 100 bucks for the movie ticket and 30 bucks for a Coke i wished that Sarkar Raj
had finally something in store for me... and that it would be better than its previous
installment that i had watched on the original VCD... but it couldnt follow the magic of Sarkar.

So what the heck is the story:::

Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Subash Nagre, Abhishek Bachchan As Shankar Nagre and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Anita Ranjan, Sarkar Raj deals with the political and social scenario of Modern day Maharashtra when a proposal for establishing a power plant in rural Maharashtra is brought by Ash and is approved by Abhi. And the consequences of the approval with some twists, turns, violence
and etc. etc....

Now, doing something crazily sensible...

If Sarkar Raj is a coin, here is its head and tail...

Head:

1) Original Script (hope so)

2) Brilliant Performances

3) Nice Dialogues

Tail:
1) Slow

2) absurd camera angles

3) Useless Rona-Dhona ( I dint understood why the f'in hell Aishwarya was continuosly crying in the movie...)

Since i could only find 3 heads and 3 tails...

so how could the asrology be more or less than that...

TAARE ZAMEEN PAR : REVIEW

Once in a while comes a movie that makes you smile, cry and finally what other movies can't ...makes your parents and you aware...
Once a while a actor throws away his style and all the stuff to get serious to make something that isnt masala but is a pure movie...
and that person is Aamir Khan.
And his directorial debut is one movie that can bring stars to earth...

So what on earth is the god damn' story:-

Ishaan(Darsheel) is a dyslexic child who hates to learn, read, write or simply "study".
He is pressurised by his parents,teachers to study, but he just cant keep up and is always lost in his thoughts.
His father throws him into a boarding school where he becomes depressed until comes our very own Aamir Khan as a new art teacher named Ram Shankar (who teaches mentally retarded children) to his rescue and brings out the gold out of Ishan.
Really Motivating.
The movie looks so realistic in terms of treatment.
I though liked the pre-interval part more.The street pangas are shown brilliantly,
and the song "Bheja Kum" was cool and crazy
.Also the "3 x 9" animation rocked. The songs didnt destroy the movie though, but the "bum bum bole" song was sort of an item number, but eventually it may have created an optimistic hope that some day there would be such teachers...(but who'll bring Prasoon Joshi to write songs for them).

Sometimes I even felt that i was a part of the movie. The sleeping scenes of Ishan in bed,
the way he apologised his father, the bloody teachers ( Ishaan's previous school's English Teacher just spoke like my ex- english teacher of class 2nd... the voice the dialogues exactly the same)... Though i felt the second part was bit long but still not boring... the discussions between Aamir and Ishan's father were something that i could understand
( i hate this P.T.M. stuff)....

The movie's ending was fabulous. No better ending can be suggested especially the "Guru vs Chela" for the first prize in "The Painting Competition" and the highly emotional hug, the red eyed Aamir.

OVERALL THE MOVIE CAN BE A GOOD DETERGENT TO WASH AWAY THE DOMINATION OF OM SHANTI OM!!!

Spider Man 3: Review

How sad is spiderman after reading this review?
The greatest fight lies between Spiderman and the viewers when the theater is crowded with the fans of spider man.
Last Sunday i was also the part of that crowd with high expectations.
But the movie didnt reached my expectations, dont blame me.
The first one was best
The second good
The third...ok
The peter spidey parker strats with his bullshit introduction (which doesnt mostly happen in hollywood series but bollywood series)
There are scenes to sleep(Mary Jane singing!)
scenes to stare(the 3 kisses)
scenes to hoot(the super duper action sequences)
It seems to look like not a superhero buzz but a damn crappy love triangle.
Seems to me like Sam is getting inspired from old bollywood.
Love,proposing for marriage,not getting oppurtunity,jealousy and all that bull shit stuff that poured over the water on the standard of Spiderman.
One thing that will surely attract you is the action in the movie which is really fabulous.
After all Mr.Sam Riami has spent money like water for these.
If Harry Osborn wasnt enough to handle Spidey two new monsters were born The Sandman and the other one was The Venom.
One side of me wanted to hoot,clap and whistle on the action sequences
and the other side of me wanted to show the middle fingers for the left over crap.

O.k O.k the movie was good and I have a purpose of saying it.

Kabul Express: 5 Crazy People in 1 Crazy Van

Movie Review

Kabir Khan rewrites his own experiences as said by him.
John Abraham, Arshad Warsi,one firangi,afghani,talib.
The story is A journalist and a camera man come to Kabul to take interview of Taliban sfter 9/11, But they miss the oppurtunity.Then suddenly while wandering in their Kabul Express(the hero van of the movie...the movie is named after it) is hijacked by a pakistani talib(some sort of Pakistani officer doing wahtever kind of duty there.)and begins a torturise tortotise journey of 2 hours...some jokes and all useless stuff stuffed in finally in the end that pakistani reaches pakistan,gets killed and pakistan is blamed after all.Thats the story of 5 crazy people in 1 Crazy Van wandering in deserts of Afghanistan.
Hope you dont fall in their trap.

Dhoom 2-review

DHOOM 2
I dont watch movies in theatres but that doesnt mean i dont watch them at all.

Given : Hrithik Roshan(Mr.A),Aishwarya Rai(Sunehri),Abhishek Bacchan(Jai),Uday Chopra(Ali),Bipasha BasuShonali,Monali) an etc etc

To Prove: Evil Crap is better then Good Crap

Proof: DHOOM2

Every Coin has 2 sides,Put one side in water- its good,and the other in poop-its bad.Lets start with water.Nice Action, Nice Thefts and Nice... nothing

Lets continue with poopSick acting especially of the Ash,Abhi,Hrit... they never talk they just whisper and are a good stuff if you want to nake a nice nap.Like the kiss scene it was better to delete conversations between ash and hrit.The story is like a rabbit as it starts and when ash enters rabbit sleeps and tortoise wins yet again.The worst part is the end.And how much kind is Jai who spent 2.5 hours to catch Mr.A finally throws him to Sunderi.
Songs are sick.Mr A dances like if he has polio.Wanna watch it go watch it, theatres are still sleping with it.

1.Both are action masters.
